The trip to meeting and organise the welcome Hong Kongers group in Birmingham was a great success! We met with some passionate pastors and community leaders, joined wonderful meetings and a lunar new year celebration party with great foods.

Hopefully the organising effort and these wonderful connections with the organisation will give greater energy for civil society to welcome HKers in to our society as well as the power to build a more welcoming Birmingham. (photos 1-4)

It was wonderful start to the year of the tiger to meet with Revd David Butterworth (The Methodist Church-Birmingham District’s Mission in the Economy Officer) and Anna Yim (CEO of Chinese Community Centre Birmingham [CCCB]). We had warm and genuine conversations and agreed that we should act together to support Hong Kongers to settle in the Birmingham area as well as enable them to take part in the community. (photo 5)
